Sun God Altarcito
The intention of this altarcito, “little altar”, and its Mandala of the Sun God, is to bring inspiration to your heart. The Tohono O'Odham nation of south central Arizona used this pattern in their basketry in the early 1900s. Its meaning varies from family to family, but generally represents their emergence story and the path of life. As we seek to find our dreams and goals, and at last reach the center, we have one final opportunity to look back upon our choices before the Sun God greets us, blesses us, and passes us into the next world.
Find a special place for your altarcito, and make some time each day to be
still and contemplate how the choices in your life effect all of Creation.
